During January 2006 we learned that the I8S cruise was scheduled for early 2007. Then ensued a year of final planning, putting together the shipboard team, obtaining research clearances, and purchasing and shipping research supplies. This Proposal was submitted to NSF in 2002 and funded the I8S cruise along with other similar cruises.
